Abhyanga

Abhyanga is a practice that involves massaging warm oil into the skin, and Surya Sunshine Body Oil is the perfect companion. With organic jojoba and baobab oils, it delivers deep hydration, essential nutrients, and antioxidants to your skin. Your body soaks up this nourishment, leaving your skin soft, supple, and radiant.

1.Prepare Your Space

Choose a quiet, warm, and comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.

2. Warm the Oil

Gently warm Surya Sunshine Body Oil either just between your palm or by pouring a little oil into a small bowl using a bain-marie method for a few minutes. The oil should be comfortably warm, but not too hot. You can perform this ritual without warming the oil but it just makes for a more indulgent experience.

3. Set an Intention

Take a moment to set an intention for your Abhyanga practice. It could be promoting relaxation, balancing your doshas, or simply nourishing your skin and spirit.

4. Begin at Your Feet

Start with your feet. Take a small amount of warmed oil in your hands and apply it to your feet, massaging with long, upward strokes. Pay attention to each toe and the soles of your feet.

5. Move Upward

Gradually work your way up your body, massaging each area with love and care. Use long, flowing strokes on your limbs and circular motions on your joints. Massage in the direction of your heart to aid circulation.

6. Abdominal Massage

Spend extra time on your abdomen, using gentle, clockwise motions. This can aid digestion and promote a sense of grounding.

7. Chest and Heart Area

Massage your chest and heart area with an open hand, promoting self-love and compassion. Take a few deep breaths here, connecting with your heart's energy.

8. Face and Scalp

Use a small amount of oil to massage your face and scalp. Be gentle with your facial skin and scalp, as they are sensitive areas. You can use Facial Oil and Hair Oil for this if you prefer.

9. Allow the Oil to Penetrate

After massaging your entire body, allow the oil to penetrate your skin for at least 10-15 minutes. You can wrap yourself in a warm towel or robe during this time for added relaxation.

10. Shower or Bathe

Take a warm shower or bath to rinse off any excess oil. Or if you’ve used just enough for it to have all have been absorbed just dress as usual.
